Principal's Message

Hello JYE Families,

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year at JYE!  We are excited to have our JYE Eagles soaring back to school.  I look forward to having the building full of life and activity again. 

We have been working diligently to prepare for an amazing year.  The leadership team has been preparing all summer to help everyone with a smooth transition back to school.  There are many things we could celebrate when we look at our results from last school year.  Teachers, staff, and the JYE community are invested in the success of all our students.  We will continue to strengthen our practice.  I am confident that with the supports of our families and community as well as our staff working collaboratively to align our instructional practices, use data to inform our instructional decisions, and protect instructional time we will end this school year with a school grade that reflects all the amazing things that happen daily at JYE.  

Our “Meet the Teacher” event will be Thursday August 8, 2024 from 4:30PM - 6:30PM.  We have many new faces at JYE.  Please come and get to know the staff.  You are welcome to bring the items on the supply list on that day.  

During the summer many of our teachers attended different professional development events to prepare to better serve our students.  They all have been actively preparing to create an engaging learning environment for students.  School starts Monday August 12, 2024.  Students are welcome to come to school at 8:00AM for breakfast.  Classes start promptly at 8:45AM.  We are here to support everyone as we create a memorable learning year for our students.  

Due to recent changes in state law, the district was required to implement new security and safety procedures for the 2024-25 school year to ensure the protection of our students. These measures will be effective the first day of school and must be followed throughout the school year. Some security and safety measures include not leaving any door unlocked or propped open. That includes securing any unsupervised doors in the media center, cafeteria, gymnasium or auditorium. Additionally, all visitors must have an ID present at all times. The district sent previous email communications to families last week with additional details. Thank you for your support.

We invite all of you to participate in as many of the JYE activities as possible this year.  We will continue to update our calendar of events.  We hope to add more community engaging experiences to our JYE traditions.  Please watch for updates to our calendar.  Mark your calendar for the dates below:
